BACKGROUND: Current Army radar systems utilize predetermined waveform schedules and a fixed number of waveforms for search and track functionality. These settings are typically configured prior to deployment and as a result are difficult to change in the field in order to adapt to a rapidly changing threat environment. This leaves the radar system vulnerable to Electronic Warfare (EW) attacks and evolving threat target tactics. The objective of the Artificial Intelligence Radar Enhancement (AIRE) is to overcome these limitations through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

DESCRIPTION: The AIRE will be an AI based radar scheduler and waveform selector that autonomously manages the search and tracking aspects of a radar system. Solutions can consist of hardware and/or software, but must support integration into existing radar systems. The AIRE should be developed using advanced AI and/or ML techniques, i.e. reinforcement learning. Any candidate solution should address the following capabilities:

· Maximize the use of radar resources and optimize tracking waveform choice based on the operational environment or engagement constraints.
· Provide an adaptive search volume and obey a threat priority hierarchy provided by the user.
· Automatically detect and recognize EW countermeasures that are a threat to the radar system.
· Alert the radar operator of any detected EW threats and provide information on the type of threat, location of the threat, and the effects on the radar system.
· Dynamically change the radar’s waveforms and beam scheduling in order to adapt to any EW threats while maintaining search and track performance to the greatest extent possible.
· Allow the customer to deploy antagonistic scenarios and training sets for continued AI learning.

Muy interesante y me revela el porqué del retomar las municiones "pata negra" de los Zumwalt: no son "misiles" así como el tremendo avance occidental de la artillería de cohetes dirigidos por GPS/Laser/inerciales...tampoco son "misiles" y son caros de narices, pero llegan muy lejos y dan en el blanco como ellos siendo mas baratos. Por tanto tienen doble efecto: hacen su trabajo y quien sea tiene que invertir en defenderse de ellos obligatoriamente. Lo de salvas de decenas de misiles de crucero para saturar defensas es para ricos y aún así TOTALMENTE insostenible en caso de liarte de verdad con alguien que te responde.

Y por supuesto esperar que te hagan lo mismo...¿a cuanto esta el kilo de Iron Dome/THAAD/Arrow3? lléneme el maletero, por favor. Y también inviertes en que pueda estirar mas su recursos el contrario. Ahora la carrera armamentística es mas espada + escudo que nunca.

Al respecto de lo que yo llamo "La Red" que está montando con sus dificultades entre cuerpos la USA. Su objetivo es tanto la defensa como el ataque, reduciendo sobre todo los tiempos de respuesta(Kill chain) y siendo efectivos y mas eficaces en los medios utilizados. En todo ese meollo meten redes de todo tipo de implementación, desde internet hasta comunicaciones satelitales, laser o vía los AESA, todo bajo conceptos mesh y edge computing. Creo que han empezado por los sistemas Aegis, que ya tienen desde hace mucho de todo esto y extendiendose al resto de sistemas transformándolo en un estandar defensivo/ofensivo que hasta el último misil, tanque, helo, loquesea, reciba, entienda y actue. Adaptar también todo esto a un enjambre que decida independientemente también tiene su injundia.

¡Ah! y que funcione 24/7 con cobertura mundial y no te corten el ethernet.

Y aquí, si, a ver quien tiene c***nes, pasta, medios y conocimiento de invertir y montar en esto o pagarlo y/o tener además autonomía estratégica para usarlo.
